The study found that the "graying affluent" population is growing, and growing to be more active online shoppers. About 15% of U.S. households have someone over 50+ in the home, and of those, over 2/3 of them made a purchase using the Internet during the previous 12 months.
More than 60% of gray households have incomes of $75,000 or more, says the survey, and that's up from more than 5% percent since 2004. And 28% of the households made over $100,000.
But boomers, better start your shopping engines now. According to the study's creator, "The baby-boomers, born between 1946 and 1964, began impacting this segment of the population in 1996, and their impact will continue to be felt through 2014." (After 2014 you're going to need to choose between the better shopper: your kids or a robot).

Our Summits
The Silvers Summit and Exhibition is presented by Living in Digital Times, producer of the following summits and exhibitions at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show:
CES represents the crossroad where technology is the thread that binds many disparate interests. Our goal is to gather the "passionistas" from different high tech lifestyles to exchange ideas. Our conferences are free to all CES attendees. They are made possible thanks to the generous support of our sponsors.
